The ANS Panel list is a private list for members and interested parties of
the Great Lakes Panel on Aquatic Nuisance Species. Membership is
generally open to all those with an active interest in invasive species
in the Great Lakes and the work of the Great Lakes Panel, with the
purpose of providing up to date information about ANS related
activities, policies, publications, etc.
List subscribers are expected to limit topics of their email submissions to
information considered to be valuable to natural resource professionals, local agencies,
scientists, policymakers and users at-large. Appropriate postings
concern the release of new reports and publications, ANS in the news,
resource management policy issues, requests for proposals, federal
budget updates, and
announcements of regional conferences or special
events relating to invasive species in the Great Lakes. Subscribers are
asked to avoid extended "dialogues" on the list, so as to not overload
other subscribers with messages. Ongoing, back and forth discussion
should be conducted between the relevant individuals.
It is up
to ANS Panel users to be responsible in their use of this service. For
more information about the Great Lakes Panel on Aquatic Nuisance Species,
please refer to the project's website:
http://www.glc.org/ans/panel.html.
ANS Panel is a "closed" list
and only subscribers are able to post to the list. Non-member
submissions are forwarded to the list manager for approval. ANS Panel
is managed by Sarah Whitney of the Great Lakes Commission and hosted by
the Great Lakes Information Network (
http://www.great-lakes.net).
